About ASI Bihar Chapter
The Association of Surgeons of India Bihar Chapter was established in 1978 as per direction of headquarter, ASI for the purpose of exchange of knowledge in surgery , to share the experience of the colleagues , to keep one selves updated with recent advances in surgery in the form of holding seminars , CME programmes , Panel discussions , case presentation and workshops
Bihar Chapter headquarters is located at IMA Building campus, South Gandhi Maidan , Patna -800001 . In each district city chapter/Units forms to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences, among the local surgeons and surgeons practicing in periphery within the district. Annual CME programmes are held regularly and midterm conference and annual conference of the chapter are held every year. The founder president was Dr. U.N Shahi , MS, FRCS (prof & Head of Department of Surgery, PMCH Patna ) and Founder secretary was Dr. R.N Thakur , MS , FRCS (prof & Head of Department Surgery, SKMCH, Muzaffarpur ) .

Objectives of the Association
The main objective of the chapter is to keep the surgeons of the state updated in the science and art of surgery, to promote the feeling of brotherhood, to have platform for paper presentation, Oration & lectures, to present the scientific research & to discuss the surgical problems, to organdies workshop for the live demonstration of the state of art surgery by the stalwarts of this country and abroad.
